This Japanese manufactured early variation receiver is for the earlier type 99 Arisaka bolt action rifle and is in good condition exhibiting a grayish brown patina and having some spots of pin prick pitting and rust staining. The right side of the receiver has two added threaded holes which once supported a receiver peep sight (no longer present). The receiver is the only part on the Type 99 Arisaka rifle that is tracked as a firearm therefore it will need to be transferred through a dealer. Receivers do not qualify as a C&R based on BATFE's guide lines.  (file photos)
